I've been using this case for more than 6 months. It provides shock and awe value. When I pull out my phone out people always say
"What kind of phone is that?". The case gives it a rugged look. For taking pictures, remove the plastic protection provided
with the case. It will distort your pictures. Cleaning the bare lens is no problem and it is protected because it is not at the surface of the case.
Remove the provided display shield and purchase a dedicated display protection with finger touch sensitivity. I've been using "Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) + LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS" since March 2011 and it is still in perfect condition. Take your time applying it.
Otterbox case system is a inner two piece hard plastic, and the outer rubber type skin which is very soft and provides grip. Lastly the system has the belt clip with clam like phone shell. It is hard and sturdy, as is the clip. My friends HTC HD2 broke when he dropped it because he did not have a case, $500 down the drain. I have dropped my phone with the Otterbox case several times and no problems. It has saved my phone many times. Highly recommended!

I purchased the Otterbox Commuter case for my HTC HD2 (USA version) 3 months ago. Yesterday I found a crack in the hard shell case near the camera hole. Based on the previous reviews here, at my Commuter lasted quite a bit longer than "normal". I'm distrubed by the fact this is supposed to be a "rugged" case yet it has definite issues with cracks in the hard shell.
I called Otterbox and they were very quick to order me a replacement case with very few questions. Hmmm....perhaps they had a lot of practice ordering replacement cases for the Commuter line??
It's too bad this product has a bad cracking issue...otherwise I like the case. The only other peeve I have is the Commuter is hard to remove. Not a good thing if you swap batteries or need to hard reset your cell phone. And the HD2 does not have great battery life. This probably contributes to the cracking issue as it is hard to be gentle when removing this case.
In summary, I knew then what I know now..I'd probably either buy the Defender case or go with another case.

I love this cover. I work in a warehouse in the Army and I drop my phone a lot. I also have to be able to have my phone on me so the fact that is this not a bulky cover but saved my phone numerous times I find to be great. I am buying Otter Box products for all of my electronics.
